My experience learning English at the university

Well, this is my last blog and I’ll talk about a general reflection learning English here at the university. First of all I only had English in the second part of the year because I had to take an English exam before starting the subject, where some question were about English grammar and other were about English skills, mainly listening. I did great on that exam so I was assigned in the fourth English group called “Intermediate” which is in charge of Joe, my English teacher. I had class on Wednesday and Friday. On Wednesday we do some English reading and working, completing activities and making dialogues about class’s stuff. On Friday we had lab class where we had to write about different topics and update or post them in our blogs.

I had a really great time in Wednesday and Friday’s class. On Wednesday in my opinion we knew each other in a very recreational way, making funny dialogues and sharing them with the whole class, completing the English books that sometimes were a headache because nothing came up to our minds and if nothing came up to our minds we just could not go to our houses or somewhere else. The listenings and the quizzes were not that hard or as hard as I imagined.

On Wednesday, it was more personal work, because different topics were assigned to us and everyone had to write an opinion about them, like 200 to 350 words. It was really useful to make this blog because it helped me out to discover words, phrases, expressions that, I think, never in my life would see, listen or read. Lab class was fun, especially when you can write about all you want and also see all that your classmates thoughts about different topics like bad and good points of their lives, what they think about university or even money.

I really enjoyed this subject along the university year, because I think it was a different, interesting and pleasant way of learning English that I didn’t experience before. It was nice to have a kind, nice, concerned and very understanding teacher that always was ready to help you, answering the entire questions that I and my classmates had, giving us tips for learning English in the best way. I think I learned a lot, but not just English’s things also life’s practical things. It was nice to undergo this subject that I really don’t think is a subject, more like a fun and very useful hobby. =D

Bye Bye!
